Terms & Conditions of Service
Last Updated: October 20, 2026
1. General Provisions & Operational Scope
These Terms and Conditions govern all architectural glass and aluminium supply and installation contracts, site surveys, and commercial proposals provided by SEG Technical Services LLC (trading as SEG | SMARTEGLASS, "we", "us", or "our"), with principal operations at W-13, Umm Ramool, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
SEG operates exclusively as a specialized supply and installation contractor. We engineer, assemble, and install switchable smart glass, PDLC privacy films, and SEG Slimline Systems aluminium architectural doors across all seven emirates of the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah) with no additional surcharge outside Dubai.
2. Quotations, Pricing & Validity
- Quotation Validity: All written quotations and commercial proposals issued by SEG remain valid for 1 to 2 weeks (7 to 14 calendar days) from the date of issuance, subject to glass supplier raw material and aluminium billet market fluctuations.
- Currency & Taxes: All prices are quoted in United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED) and are subject to 5% UAE Value Added Tax (VAT) in accordance with Federal Tax Authority regulations.
- Minimum Job Size: SEG does not impose an arbitrary minimum order requirement; projects are evaluated and quoted based on actual scope, site conditions, and opening measurements.
3. Scope of Work & Exclusions
Unless explicitly specified in writing in the approved commercial quotation, SEG's scope covers architectural glass, aluminium profiles, hardware, certified in-house installation, and handover commissioning.
The following works are strictly excluded from SEG's scope:
- Civil & Structural Works: Structural header modifications, masonry pocket cavity construction, lintel reinforcements, trenching for recessed floor tracks, floor screeding, tile cutting, and plaster making-good. These must be completed by the client's main civil contractor to SEG's engineering shop drawings.
- Electrical Works: Provision of primary 220V/240V AC mains power supply, conduit chasing, concealed junction boxes, and dedicated isolator switches adjacent to the designated transformer location. SEG technicians connect low-voltage output wiring from the transformer to the smart glass busbars.
- Authority Approvals: Any external tenant, landlord, developer (Emaar, Nakheel, Meraas), or civil authority permits unless separately contracted as part of a turnkey fitout package.
4. Site Readiness, Survey & Installation
- Technical Laser Survey: SEG conducts a complimentary on-site laser survey within 24 hours of inquiry (Monday to Saturday). Opening dimensions must reflect finished floor levels (FFL) and true plumb structural lines.
- Installation Program: Installation timelines depend on project scope, panel quantities, and glass build-ups (e.g., standard toughened vs curved or double-glazed DGU). Precise fabrication and site mobilization dates are confirmed following survey approval.
- Direct In-House Crews: All installation work is carried out by SEG's own permanent, trained technical crews; no third-party sub-contractors are deployed.
5. Material Specifications & Finishes
- Frame Finishes: Architectural Matte Black powder coating (RAL 9005) is provided as standard. Custom RAL colors, textured powders, and anodized finishes are available upon request.
- Smart Glass Technology: SEG installs premium German-engineered PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) liquid crystal films and switchable glass panels tested for high thermal and UV resistance.
- Glass Variations: Custom options include clear, ultra-clear Low-Iron, frosted acid-etched, tinted (bronze/grey), and architectural fluted/reeded textured profiles.
6. Product Warranty & Handover
Warranty varies by product and is explicitly defined in your project quotation and warranty certificate.
Warranties cover material defects in PDLC switchable interlayers, electrical transformers, aluminium extrusion finishes, and mechanical door rollers/springs under normal operational conditions. Warranties do not cover damage caused by site accidents, unauthorized third-party electrical modifications, structural building settlement, harsh chemical cleaning agents, or water ingress into non-waterproofed interior film applications.
7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable Federal Laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
