How it works
The film is placed between glass sheets in the laminating process, with edge connections planned before production. Once laminated, the panel switches between a frosted look with power off and a clearer view when powered, like other PDLC smart glass.
SEG does not sell the film on its own to processors or for DIY. Our own installation team supplies and fits the finished laminated panels. Panel sizes, glass build-up and power routes are agreed at the site survey and confirmed in the written quote.
Where this film fits in a UAE project
This film is used when new panels are made. It goes inside the glass during lamination, so it is part of the finished panel and not something you fit yourself.
SEG supplies it with installation only, as laminated smart glass with the film already built in. We do not sell the film on its own. To add privacy to glass you already have, ask about self-adhesive smart film, which our own team also supplies and installs.

What is non-adhesive PDLC film?
It is a switchable privacy layer made to be enclosed inside a glass laminate during manufacture. In a standard system the finished panel looks frosted without power and clearer when powered. It is part of new smart-glass panels, not a surface upgrade, and SEG supplies it only as finished glass with installation.
How is it different from self-adhesive film?
Self-adhesive film is stuck to the surface of suitable existing glass. Non-adhesive film is laminated inside new glass at the glass-processing stage. One upgrades what you have, and the other is part of a newly made panel.
Can non-adhesive film be used on existing glass?
No. It is intended for integration during glass lamination, not for ordinary surface application. For an existing pane, ask about self-adhesive smart film, and we will check whether your glass suits it.
Can I buy non-adhesive film on its own?
No. SEG supplies this film only as part of finished laminated smart glass, with installation by our own team. We do not sell it separately, so there is nothing to order or fit yourself.
What affects the price of non-adhesive film?
Glass type, size, hardware and installation. For this film that means the panel sizes, the glass build-up and the controls. We quote in writing after a free site survey.
Is non-adhesive PDLC film the same as solar-control film?
No. PDLC is primarily used for switchable visual privacy. A solar-control target needs separate assessment of the glazing's verified light and solar performance.
