What is projection compatible smart film?

Projection compatible smart film is a switchable PDLC surface selected for privacy and image display. In its transparent state, people can see through the glazing. In its frosted state, the film diffuses light and can act as a screen for a compatible projector positioned behind the glass.

It is ideal where a glazed partition, shopfront or display needs to stay visually open at one time and carry branded content, presentations or privacy at another. Projection compatibility does not mean every projector will deliver the same result. A project-specific mock-up is the safest way to approve image size, contrast, hotspot visibility and viewing conditions.

Is front projection possible?

Can the glass remain transparent when no video is playing?

Yes. The smart film can return to its transparent state when the display is not required. Some natural haze remains compared with bare glass.

Can the same film provide privacy?

Yes. Its frosted state blocks a direct view and can serve as a privacy screen even when the projector is off.

Will the image be visible in bright daylight?

Strong ambient light can reduce perceived contrast. Projector output, screen size, light control and viewing distance must be assessed for the specific site.
