Electrochromic glass is dynamic glazing that changes its visible tint when a low electrical control signal is applied. Unlike PDLC privacy glass, it normally remains see-through while becoming lighter or darker. Its main role is to manage daylight, glare and solar heat rather than create an opaque privacy screen.
The final appearance and performance depend on the selected product, glass build-up, façade orientation, panel size, control system and project conditions. These items should be reviewed before the glass specification is finalized.
Electrochromic technology should be planned as part of the glass, façade, electrical and automation package, not as a surface film added after installation.
